(i3) - How to stop black box from appearing?

Well this is at least the 3rd time this has happened to me, and I am unsure as to what causes it or how to stop it from happening.
While it appears I cannot do anything, other then switch TTY.
It is usually when I'm moving windows around or something, and pressing a lot of i3 related keyboard shortcuts.
What it looks like:

Insight appreciated!

I've had this happen to me occasionally and I don't know how to fix (or trigger) this either. Did you figure this out?

No, sadly, and it's still an issue (it just happened again for me).
Does anyone know of any logs to look at or anything?

I think it is some dialog box which gets blacked out due to your gtk theme or something so the text becomes invisible?

How to stop it though?
I'm using Arc-Dark as my GTK theme if that means anything.

Re: (i3) - How to stop black box from appearing?

1. change the theme to see if the box shows some text
2. try to identify exactly after which commands that box appears.

AFAIK, i3 dialog box appears on the top when there is some error in i3 config (though it may be because I have tabbed as default). Does this box appear on pressing $mod+c, or pressing some shortcut you have defined in i3/config ?

Re: (i3) - How to stop black box from appearing?

Just now it happened when I had a lot of windows open, and I started the ZCash wallet for the first time.
Previously it has happened when I've had tabs within tabs (in i3 "T: ").
I would change the theme, but I can't seem to figure out how to reproduce the issue.
