I have made 3 small (but very useful) scripts to make my work as package contributor to AUR much more comfortable.
You can download these scripts directly from here: aurscripts-1.0.3.tar.gz, or you can download PKGBUILD from AUR.
These scripts are included:
· aurcreate - create clean packages prepared for upload to AUR
· aurdownload - download and extract packages from AUR
· aurupdate - update package versions (if specified) and md5sums

I dont really see the use for aurdownload or update when you can just run aurbuild -s <pkg> or aurbuild -su ..

I guess the difference is that Mikos' scripts just download the PKGBUILD and related files whereas aurbuild downloads the files, creates the package, installs (or updates) it and removes the PKGBUILD, etc. afterwards.

It is like smoon said - aurdownload just download and extract tarball with PKGBUILD (and related files) from AUR.
These tools are for package maintainers, not for regular users (like aurbuild is).

Great scripts Mikos. My wireless must be sucking, because I thought I posted on this last night.

But I see!
aurbuild and qpkg are written in Python, aurscripts - in bash.
I don't have python on my systems and don't want to install it (I think that all system scripts and utilities should be written in either bash or C - that's IMHO). So, guess which package I have chosen.
To Mikos: Thank you!

I'll use aurdownload. I actually skip using aurbuild alot now and just grab the tarball. It's just easier...
