Hello,
I have the following setup:
I have in my .xinitrc the line: setxkbmap de us
This helps me with writing german and english at the same time. But I also need to write chinese and japanese sometimes.
I do this via ibus-daemon --xim and then I press ctrl+space to switch between the languages.
My problem is now that everytime when I switch to a different language and I switch back to my normal US setup, i don't have german special chars like I have when i trigger setxkbmap de us.
Is there any way to trigger setxkbmap de us when I switch back to the US keyboard? Can I hook the ibus-daemon somehow?
I thought maybe about something like this:
ibus-daemon --xim | <monitoring process>
But even with ibus-daemon -v --xim I don't get any information when I trigger/switch between the languages.
Any other idea?
