Removal of Infanility

And before the Mods jump on this as "No, not another", it isn't a how to etc question.

I was hit by the harfbuzz/infanility problem, and I replaced with freetype. I did not change any configuration files, and the only modification to my system was to increase the default xfce font size by one point.

Now, I'm seeing several threads linking to instructions for re-configuring freetype after infinality remove. I'm happy with my font rendering, at the moment, and so do I need to take these re-configuration steps, or am I good to just carry on?

If you are happy with the way your fonts look, then why change the config?

Just worried that not changing coulld be a future problem when I've forgotten all about this problem. If it's not likely trouble in store then I'm happy to move on a carry on.

The way I understand it, the only thing you can be afraid of are potentially some broken symlinks in /etc/fonts/conf.d which don't really form a problem afaik.

And if you're still using fonts from the infinality repo then you'll miss out on updates I suppose. I can't recall ever having had the pleasure of seeing a font update though.

If you're happy with the defaults, stick with the defaults. If something doesn't look right, configure it to your liking.

The wiki will still be there if you encounter a problem further down the line.
