lib32-alsa-plugins - Bad sound

Hello, to play a game, I needed the multilib version of alsa, otherwise I had no sound. So I installed lib32-alsa-plugins.

The sound now works, but I have a problem. The sound is bad, in fact it sizzles. It's not all the time, sometimes it's just at the start, at other times it persists.

Should another packet be installed to solve this problem?

Re: lib32-alsa-plugins - Bad sound

Does sound work correctly on all other applications?

Are you using HDMI out or regular audio line out?

Do you use PulseAudio? I had an unrelated issue with audio in video games made with Allegro, and the solution was to "upgrade" from ALSA to PulseAudio (and ALSA). I don't know if that will fix your issue, but it might help, and it's not too hard to try.

I can not compare, I have only one application using lib32-alsa-plugin.

I use regular audio line out.

How can I check if alsa is used?

ALSA is used by default.

You have to setup PulseAudio: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio
