so remove it then try again ie:

rm /lib/modules/2.6.14-ARCH/modules.ofmap
pacman -Syu 

what its saying is the file exists already it cant remove it so you do it
a new one will be put in its place

Thank you for the tip rayjgu3 ; it did the job smoothly smile

As i said, a lot of kernel related stuff makes me unconfident about what can I do & what i should better not try. And this message was the first of this type since I use Linux or Arch. I'll keep your advice in mind for the future.

dont be afraid of the the "KERNEL" if you do screw it up you can always boot off the cd then repair what you need to do to fix it
ie: keep a current stock kernel on your hard drive then reinstall it pacman -U /where/kernel/is/
