problem at boot after 4.9 kernel update

http://imgur.com/a/21SXz

I have a fully working system with the lts kernel (4.4). And I cant change the tty to enter commands with the 4.9 kernel.

Any ideas?

Re: problem at boot after 4.9 kernel update

Thank you, it seems like optimus is broken when using nouveau and the 4.9 kernel:
https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/52755?project=1
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=98690

I will keep using the lts kernel and waiting for a bux fix, but, I read somewhere that 4.9 will be the new LTS, is it true? is there something i can do to prevent my system from updating to 4.9 LTS if it happens before the bug is solved?

https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/52238#comment154371 might help it is queued for the next upstream stable release

see man pacman.conf IgnorePkg
Edit:

If it is 98690 then nouveau.runpm=0 should work around it at the cost of having both GPU's permanently active.
