Nvidia GTX 660ti, poor performance

Hello, I am facing poor performance on my setup. I am even wondering if it is a GPU problem or some other component.
I have tried different environments, right now I have installed Gnome 3 and i3wm.

1.When I move window in gnome, it lags. I have also tried Unity before, same problem.
I have tried same thing at university PC, and it's smooth.

2. Scrolling in browser, that's the biggest pain, I can live without smooth window movement - i3wm.
But I can't without smooth scrolling, it's the only animation that I need.

When there is only clean text, it's scrolling quite good. (Chrome, on Firefox it's still unbearable.)
But let's give in some images or video - it's starts to stutter very much, the scroll is getting very slow, it's not scrolling the same
distance like before.
It bothers me a lot.

What I have tried:
- I have tried on different environments
- I have tried compton at i3wm. With different settings. GLX gives similar outcome that I have on gnome.
I tried xrender, but I have a looot of tearing. But the performance seems to be better.
- I have tried different drivers, nvidia-340xx and nvidia-375. Both with libgl and utils.
- I have tried adding force ForceCompositionPipeline to xorg.conf

My setup:
CPU: i7 870, GPU: GTX 660Ti (MSI)

xorg.conf: http://pastebin.com/raw/Epd9gdb6
dmesg: http://pastebin.com/raw/PN1w2HD3
Xorg log: http://pastebin.com/raw/xvH0e4Qq
lspci -v: http://pastebin.com/raw/2jimahbn

uname -a
Linux arch 4.8.13-1-ARCH #1 SMP PREEMPT Fri Dec 9 07:24:34 CET 2016 x86_64 GNU/Linux

It's clearly something with the performance. Could it be my CPU or mobo? I just tried everything. I am fighting with this for a year or longer.

It's difficult to record something like this, and my camera isn't the best, but there is a video: https://vimeo.com/199973052

Re: Nvidia GTX 660ti, poor performance

Hi!

Unfortunately I do not know the solution, i just want to say that i have similar problems after the last update. I have a GTX 660ti too, but with the AMD processor. I had no troubles with my setup until the update of the linux kernel and nvidia drivers (to Linux 4.9.6-1 and nvidia 375.26). After that update i got like,, a huge drop of FPS in Mad Max game.

Oh, another thing, i would suggest you to try a zen-kernel linux-zen. The benefit of it is just like what you want - desktop performance.
BUT, it could have troubles with GTX 660IT too Last post.
