crashing on GNOME constantly

My laptop crashes alot, it crashes (the time stops moving) and it freezes up so I switch off with the power button.

Activating service name 'org.freedesktop.systemd1' failed: process org.freedesktop.systemd1 exited with status 1 

This is the only error message I receive ( I get this after inputting my password in the terminal and logging in this may not be related though.

Any advice we be greatly appreciated!
