urxvt fontawesome 2017

I know this is an old question but after searching Google entirely day I can't figuring out how to make this work. So is there any solution now? or it is still can not resolve?

I guess this issue is related with https://github.com/FortAwesome/Font-Awesome/issues/3681, and as per link it is rxvt-unicode bug

Some people suggest using nerb patched font, but still didn't work.

This is not solved issue, I'm switching to termite. Even though I still like urxvt because the simple of it
