Hi everybody,
My new laptop is coming with i7-7700HQ HD630 + Geforce Nvidia GTX 950M 2Gb
I want to use the proprietary NVIDIA driver (will use KDE) and my question is if it is possible to disable the integrated HD 630?
My laptop is a 17", so i dont care about energy and it will be always plugged.
I will do a lot of activities with postprocessing CFD and sometimes games.
Will my laptop become hot while browsing just because im using the dedicated card?
Thanks in advance

Typically only the intel chip is actually wired to the outputs so you can't really do this. See the bumbplebee/primus page on the wiki for how to use the nvidia chip.

some laptop manafacturers allow choosing the primary videocard in uefi/bios firmware.
Maybe you will be one of the lucky people with that option.
Do you have only a ssd in the laptop ?
apart from speeding up things a lot, that also tends to reduce heat dissipation.
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Read and follow https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NV … ing_nvidia make sure to also pay attention to potential display manager specifics
If you have problems, post the exact commands and outputs, as well as the contents of the config files you have created.
