Hi
So my laptop went dead today - the motherboard simply died
But now I have connected my harddrive to my windows machine and want to make a backup of it. The drive is connected with USB.
Does anyone know of a good way to backup the drive? Any program recommendations?

take a look at whats on it and evaluate,
assuming it's a pure arch system, I'd backup my /home, backup all my documents and precious files, backup /etc, get a list of all the packages installed, and backup /var/cache/pacman/pkg.
with all that backed up, you ought to be able to reinstall and get yourself running pretty quick. I've always used tar to backup my files, just tarring up the relevant directories. Others will probably have more sophisticated solutions though. this setup would get you completely reinstalled in pretty quick time, install a base system, copy the packages back in, and reinstall. then reconfigure, looking at the old /etc, and untar home.
