GTK3 file dialog icons issue

GTK3 file dialog often doesn't load icons for random files. It looks like this: http://i.imgur.com/k4NmZ1H.png
When I move cursor over items with missing icons or switch to another window it loads them. It happens with any icon theme.
Does anyone else also experience this issue?

Yes I have noticed this for quite a while.  I posted a similar topic a while back but it was deleted and folded into a larger one dealing with gtk3.

Re: GTK3 file dialog icons issue

Are you/were you running a 3rd party freetype2 package (such as infinality)?

No, and I doubt that it has something to do with fonts.

Re: GTK3 file dialog icons issue

Many people had screwed up icons because the gdk-pixbuf loader cache was screwed up, caused by harfbuzz being broken by old freetype2 packages.

Don't make assumptions when you have no idea where someone is going.

Re: GTK3 file dialog icons issue

In my case I have seen it both with and without infinality.  The simplest way to see this is to start gedit and then open a file with the "Other Documents" button.  If you are in a directory with more than a screenfull of files and you scroll down you will see some entries without an icon until you drag the mouse over their name.  If you cancel the dialog and enter it again you will see the same results.  In my case the first one it happens on is .mame followed by .node-gyp.  If you "mouse out" of the dialog then all missing icons are displayed.  I do have my focus mode set to mouse.  If I change it to click then you need to click on another window to cause all of the missing icons to be displayed.
