Can't get weston-eglstreams working

I have a GTX 980 with the latest nvidia package, and wanted to test Nvidia's patched version of weston to compare performance on my new 4K monitor. However I just can't get it working. Here's the error I get:

[14:12:38.023] weston 1.12.0

[14:12:38.043] failed to initialize egl

Any idea what could be going wrong?

Re: Can't get weston-eglstreams working

The nvidia drivers and weston-eglstreams both recently got updates. But I still get this error. Does nvidia still even support this method in the newer drivers (currently 375.26) -- would I need to install an older driver version? Or is it more likely something wrong with my setup?

EDIT: I've now enabled the DRM kernel mode setting feature. Given that that was one of the steps listed in the thread on Nvidia's forum, I was hoping that was the issue - nope. Does anyone have that patched Weston working with the latest drivers?

Re: Can't get weston-eglstreams working

My advice is just do what I did: give up, and just wait until the developers involved come up with a GBM replacement that's good enough for everyone, and Nvidia updates the driver to support it. I think it'll be a while... sad
