gnome: set background-image for apps like gedit,gnome-control-center..

I was able to set background-image on nautilus, gnome-tweak-tool,contacts and many more by editing the gtk.css and gtk-dark.css from gtk3 folder on gnome 3.22.
I just noticed it didn't affect apps like gedit and gnome-control-center.
Are they gtk2 based or could i found some options in gconf.
Well any help would be useful.
