Hello,
I'm recently encountering the issue that my cursor is too big after logging in, despite the correct setting (XFCE4).
I have to change the cursor theme and undo the change in order get back to the desired size (demonstration: https://gfycat.com/LikableWhirlwindBedlingtonterrier).
The strange thing is that this doesn't occur at every login.
The only thing that I have changed is using one of my displays in portrait mode. Maybe XFCE detects a HiDPI screen because of the 1080x1920 resolution?
I wasn't able to find any relevant DPI-scaling setting in that regard.

I also had this issue, granted with Antergos not Arch directly. http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions … ursor-xfce The fix listed there did work to reduce the cursor size, however not in all apps. Chromium based Apps still show a large cursor, I am still currently investigating that.

Thanks, creating a ~/.Xresource file solved the issue as far as I can tell:
Xcursor.size: 24
Howver, it seems the problem shifted towards the display manager, but that would be another topic I guess.
