[CLOSED] Mouse issue

Hello guys,

First, I want to apology for my bad english (I am French).

I recently installed Arch on my computer. The installation of Xorg-server, lightdm and cinnamon has been successful. Next, I launched lightdm with the following command:

systemctl start lightdm.service

I can sign in to the cinnamon session but my mouse cursor is blocked on the top left corner. I can use my mouse but the cursor don't move and stay on the corner. The cursor position display seems not be refreshed.

I tried to install and use nouveau and nvidea drivers but nothing happen.

Re: [CLOSED] Mouse issue

hello sixelav,
first what do you mean when you say you can use the mouse but the cursor don't move and stay on the corner ?
was it in the center first ?
when does the mouse stop working ?
after or before you login into cinnamon ?
what is your hardware ?

Re: [CLOSED] Mouse issue

Hello,

Thanks for your answer!

When I start to use lightdm, the mouse cursor is instantly freeze on the corner. But the mouse can be used, I can select icons, menus, etc. The problem is that the mouse is invisible because the cursor is blocked on the corner.

The mouse don't work at all. The problem is present before and after the login into cinnamon.

GPU : GTX 1080
CPU : i7 6700k
MB: MSI Z170A-G45
RAM : 16Go

My mouse is a Logitech G502 (USB)

I installed Arch in UEFI.

Re: [CLOSED] Mouse issue

your xorg shows that your mouse was detected but it doesn't say it "Found 'n' mouse buttons"
have you tried with another mouse ? if you can borrow someone's mouse try with it maybe there is something wrong with your mouse ...
there is a tool called xdotools, it can print your mouse coordinates. try with this command after you login : xdotool getmouselocation --shell
do they change correctly when you move your mouse ?

Re: [CLOSED] Mouse issue

This german board confirms it's the modesetting driver on the chip, do NOT go for the nomodeset solution, but rather install the nvidia driver package ("pacman -S nvidia nvidia-libgl", yes, replace the mesa libgl)

Edit: this... https://linux-club.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=92&t=121507

Re: [CLOSED] Mouse issue

Hello,

I fixed my problem by replacing mesa-libgl by nvidia and nvidia-libgl.

Thanks a lot!
