How long it takes to build fife?

Hi there!
I am trying to build fife: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/fife/
As it is a dependency of unknow horizons...

but it just keeps on

[ 0%] Swig source
Scanning dependencies of target _fife
[ 1%] Building CXX object CMakeFiles/_fife.dir/fifePYTHON_wrap.cxx.o

forever, and memory usage is increasing (2.7 of 3gb ram & 2 of 6gb swap)
I am guessing if it is going to crash the system at some point...

Is that normal? should I just wait?

Re: How long it takes to build fife?

If your RAM is full, and your system is using swap, then everything will be very slow. I didn't notice any large amount of RAM being used, but the package still took about 10 minutes to build on my 3rd generation i7.

Sakura:-
Mobo: MSI MAG X570S TORPEDO MAX // Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X @4.9GHz // GFX: AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT // RAM: 32GB (4x 8GB) Corsair DDR4 (@ 3000MHz) // Storage: 1x 3TB HDD, 6x 1TB SSD, 2x 120GB SSD, 1x 275GB M2 SSD

Making lemonade from lemons since 2015.

Wow, that is fast! :-D
I just let it there... it lasted like 2 1/2 hours (almost 98% of the time on that 1% line)
I guess my Intel® Core™2 Duo CPU T5670 @ 1.80GHz × 2 is bit old :-D

PD: oh, and yes... the system was a bit laggy
