I used to love how quiet my computer was running arch with fluxbox, but now for no apparent reason the fan just goes off and doesnt stop until I reboot. Quitting x doesnt help and I dont understand from ps aux what it is that should take so much cpu. Cpu is now alternating from 99% to 100% and I run fluxbox, gkrellm, gaim and opera. It wasnt like this in gnome on ubuntu with several more heavy apps up.
Machine is ecs g553, 1,6 ghz, 256 ddrr-ram.

pacman -S htop
A nice app that .. well, it'll get to the bottom of things faster than grepping ps output and is more usable than top.
