Does anyone have resume from suspend working? And if so what kernel & bios versions?

I'm currently on Bios 1.4.12 and 4.9.6-nvme kernel and the laptop just shows a black screen when trying to resume.

Try to disable thunderbolt boot and thunderbolt pre-boot modules in BIOS setup. It helped me on 1.4.13 and 4.10-rc8.

I have a weird issue that seems to be power related. FYI I'm using the latest BIOS version, 1.4.13. The issue is the following:

If I set my wifi to be an access point (BRCM4350), a USB 3 network adapter either using the USB type C port (r8152 as found in the DA200) or the right hand side type A port (ASIX AX88179) will be very unstable and suffer frequent (less than a minute!) disconnects.

Either

* it doesn't happen if I don't use the wifi

Can anybody reproduce this behaviour?

Has anyone of you tested lowering voltages with IntelXTU on Windows? I hear the settings should be retained in teh BIOS and not in the software itself, so they should apply to Linux as well. If that's true that is a huge power saving potential!

I have the displayport to minidisplayport connecting the monitor to the wd15.  Anyone else with the same setup get 60hz to work?  Initially, I thought it was just the hdmi connection as the brochure says hdmi max is 30hz.  But the monitor manual says 60hz supported with displayport.  I've tried searching but none of them seem related to this issue.  Any help or pointers very welcome.

Edit: nvm, I'll have to revisit the max resolution and freq of wd15

This is exactly the same issue I ran into. Dell are, in some parts, just really bad with documentation.

While I love the WD15, despite all the issues I still have with it. But the 4K problem just sucks. The only way in the future for multiple 4k displays, USB 3 hub, ethernet and charging is with a thunderbolt dock that has a proper GPU inside. Those Razer Cores look darn good, but so fucking expensive. I guess I'll bite the bullet in the near future.

Do you have any idea for another, maybe cheaper, one-plug solution?

Also, not related to you frank, but my last post: about the issues I had with the monitor: They are unsolvable. Qnix QX270LED monitors are just a huge pain in the ass, and nothing I tried really worked. I now have, depending on how high the battery charging current is, more or less many picture errors (black bars, maybe 4 pixels high, running from left to right like a tear).
It's the monitors shitty shielding or something, I can't figure it out.

Hi all, does anyone know a tested usb-c/displayport adapter that supports 4k@60hz for the 9350? I plan to buy a dell P2415q and I'd like a simple cable (like startech ones) or adapter, not a docking station or a big hub.

ps: as a side note, for anyone interest, I just swapped the broadcom wifi card with an intel 8265 and I can confirm it works out of the box, no more random lags and disconnections.

It seems to be much better for me (for the moment as I just upgraded...don't want to be too happy too quickly...)
-connecting/disconnecting/re-connecting usb type c doesn't seem to be an issue anymore
-hibernate is ok and waking up as well
-still remain an issue on sleep where it can't go to sleep but tries and lost ethernet connection in my ip list...

What about you guys?

is there any reliable way, to connect my two external displays with the resolutions 2560x1440 and 1920x1080 via USB-C?
Currently I have the 2560x1440 screen connected with a USB-C-to-DVI adapter and the 1920x1080 screen with a DisplayLink dock. The USB-C screen works like a charm, but the DisplayLink dock is a pain. It does not show up as a provider in xrandr 99% of the time and IF I get it to work, the mousecursor is flickering.

As a limiting factor, the 2560x1440 screen has DisplayPort and DualLink-DVI inputs and the 1920x1080 screen has HDMI and DVI inputs, so a USB-C to 2xDVI solution would be nice.

951 should be the old one tho right? The new one is 961.

951 should be the old one tho right? The new one is 961.

The xps 13 9350 uses this sm951 with vid 0x144d. In my case though the fr differs from above.

The firmware revision differs in my 9350 as well (BXV77D0Q), so maybe we're okay?

I'd be more than happy to find solution for this too. It seems that when connected to the charger resuming from the suspend works fine. Reboot happens only on battery mode.

I can confirm my system resumes now from sleep properly.

What I did was booted on Windows and went on flashing BIOS from 1.3.3. to 1.4.13.

I am on 4.9.11-1 kernel.

If the fr differs APST will still work.

Also : I have done some testing in the bios and have reached (in my case) another extra watt less power usage.
I think i have narrowed it down to disabling the sdcard in the bios. Could someone confirm this behavior?  (Yes i am using TLP)

edit: in my case im seeing ~3.30w idle (plasma desktop, wifi on, brightness lowest, backlight keyboard off) where i used to mostly hover around 4.2w-4.5w lately

Thanks for tip - switched off my SD card and dropped idle from abiut 3.9 to 3.5
