Install 64-bit system from 32-bit system with "arch-install-scripts".

hi,
i have ArchLinux 32-bit and i want to install the 64-bit version in an empty partition.
i have tried to do it using arch-install-scripts but pacstrap installs automatically the 32-bit packages.

how can i set pacstrap to use the 64-bit repository?

Thanks,
sorry for bad english.

I believe you could set the architecture to 64-bit temporarily in your pacman.conf.

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan

You'll need to boot a 64-bit kernel first. Doing this from a 32-bit kernel will cause all kinds of things to fail and leave you with a broken system.

Why don't you just use the arch 64bit iso instead?
