Re: No sound, Using KDE(plasma5) and phonon-vlc

fWas sound working through your speakers before you installed KDE? Or did you not check this? If not, be sure to read through https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ad … chitecture, https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ad … leshooting and https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/PulseAudio.

If you still have no luck, post the output of 'lspci -v' and 'aplay -l'.

Mod note: not a kernel/hardware issue, moving to NC.

Re: No sound, Using KDE(plasma5) and phonon-vlc

Hi,
I have no luck by reading the wiki(and finding/testing anything to do on my machine(lenovo x201t)) but i tested also ubuntu live and androidx86, in ubuntu live same problem and androidx86 not.
If i do

rmmod -f snd-hda-intel && modprobe snd-hda-intel

sound works for a short time.

here are the requested output, lspci -v

Re: No sound, Using KDE(plasma5) and phonon-vlc

I also tried to set

intel_iommu=igfx_off

from https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=204460 but no success.
I have no idea how to detect the error ... please help ...

I do not think its an hardware error because if i reload the kernel module i have sound ... sad

Re: No sound, Using KDE(plasma5) and phonon-vlc

It is possible that the channels are muted. Install alsamixer  and unmute them https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ad … e_channels. This fixed it for me.

Restart pulseaudio afterwards if necessary

pulseaudio --kill
pulseaudio --start
