AwesomeWM disable mouse on a specific window

I have a gnome-terminal running cava with a transparent background set up on my desktop. It looks pretty nice and I have set up rules in the rc.lua so that it has a good placement and size when it's launched on login.
However, the mouse still changes it's pointer shape to the I-beam for text editing in the terminal when I hover over it. I would like to make it so that it still shows the default pointer at the very least.
The right click functionality of the terminal still works too, so I also want that to go. In fact, the mouse doesn't have to work at all in this window.
Ideally AwesomeWM right-click functionality for the default awesome menu should work.
I have looked around for a while and haven't seen any methods to do any of these things.
