I've encountered an issue when removing a package that has delta's from a repo database file:
Package removal was done with repo-remove repo.db.tar.gz <packagename>
The resulting database file contained an archive with a bunch of folders (as usual) and 1 .deltas file (which causes all this trouble).
Re-adding the package to the database restores normal database structure. Removing all the delta's followed by the package removal results in a normal database file without the package.
This is the rather nondescriptive error that is thrown when syncing the databases:
error: invalid name for database entry
Shouldn't repo-remove remove the delta's as well? Should I file a bug for this or am I removing the package incorrectly?

Please file a bug. If a package is removed, all deltas need removed too.
