Dell xps: Arch can't detect hdd

hi,
I have a problem with my dell xps, I got arch livecd and arch can't detect the hdd.

lsblk
NAME   MAJ:MIN RM  SIZE RO TYPE MOUNTPOINT
sda      8:0    1  7.5G  0 disk
└─sda1   8:1    1  7.5G  0 part /cdrom
loop0    7:0    0  1.4G  1 loop /rofs

lspci | grep -i raid
00:17.0 RAID bus controller: Intel Corporation 82801 Mobile SATA Controller [RAID mode] (rev 31)

The bios configuration is uefi and raid on, if I change those settings its work,
but I need to keep those settings.
should I install driver or something like that?

Re: Dell xps: Arch can't detect hdd

Hi,
I don't have /dev/md folder, so I tried to run modprove for all the files in
/lib/modules/`uname -r`/kernel/drivers/ata/
and nothing changed, dmraid return "no block devices found"
maybe I need to download controller chipset module for dell raid but I didn't find it.
what should I do?

Afaik you should use AHCI mode for your drives with the XPS and Linux. (Change it in BIOS)

If you have windows, and want to keep booting it just boot into safe mode, and it'll figure out that you changed to AHCI. Normal windows boot won't work, until you safe boot once.
