Anyone else experiencing this under the latest GNOME from the gnome and gnome-extra groups? This recently started happening on my Dell XPS 15 as well as a brand new fresh install of Arch on an oldish workstation I am bringing back to life.
It appears to happen randomly, doesn't matter which terminal emulator I use. Tried all the vte3 variants from the AUR, running a mostly generic setup (ie: default ARCH kernel, default GNOME/GDM setup, etc). The only way I can seem to temporarily rectify this is if I close out ALL running terminals but it eventually goes back to the key repeat behavior.
Super annoying and obnoxious.

Well yes, a few times over the last few days but I thought my keyboard was playing up? Will look at bit closer next time it happens.
Edit: To clarify, it happens to me in gnome-terminal.

Glad I'm not the only one, I thought I was going crazy for a second!
Just to be concise I experience this behavior regardless of using the built-in keyboard on my XPS or an external keyboard, exhibits the same behavior whether I use a USB hub or not.

Confirming this on a Clevo W650SH laptop.
It happens to me on "Terminix" terminal emulator.
Gnome-terminal did not seem affected.

I have the same problem with gnome-terminal and terminator. It started to occour two days ago, quite annoying.
Does anyone knows a fix for this problem?

As this bug is quite annoying, what is the procedure to get this patch into the ArchLinux package as soon as possible? Open a bug in ArchLinux's tracker?

Since this a wayland bug, a quick "fix" for the problem may be using GNOME on XORG.

Seems like this was fixed with today's update of gtk3 from 3.22.9-1 -> 3.22.9+2+gaebe3a74ec-1.
