I've been having this problem for a while, and apparently nobody else on Earth has it.
Whenever I boot into the linux-grsec kernel, it boots correctly but drops to a blank screen. I'm pretty sure I have identified the problem:
kernel: PAX: size overflow detected in function ttm_bo_handle_move_mem drivers/gpu/drm/ttm/ttm_bo.c:388 cicus.459_185 max, count: 5, decl: offset; num: 0; context: ttm_buffer_object;call trace here https://0x0.st/yoV.txt
The graphics card is an R9 380, or more accurately:
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Tonga PRO [Radeon R9 285/380] (rev f1)Is this a problem with AMDGPU, PAX, or the card? I can't tell.

It appears to be an issue between PAX and the kernel.
Disliking systemd intensely, but not satisfied with alternatives so focusing on taming systemd.
clean chroot building not flexible enough ?
Try clean chroot manager by graysky

Thank you! Now at least I know what the problem is.
