Mouse cursor stuck in top-left corner of the screen

Hello, I just installed arch on my machine, I was able to do everything but when I installed plasma and launched it, the mouse cursor seems to be stuck in the top-left corner of my screen, although I can still move the mouse just fine, but the image of the cursor doesn't follow along with it, I have a GTX 1080 so first, I tried installing the proprietary nvidia driver, but that caused the screen to go black, I removed it and put nouveau back on, but the mouse is still stuck

Re: Mouse cursor stuck in top-left corner of the screen

1. Use code tags when pasting to the boards: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Co … s_and_code

2. The error message is pretty obvious.  What input driver did you install?

I don't think I installed an input driver, which one should I install?

EDIT: I have libinput installed, just to be clear, the mouse itself isn't stuch in the topleft corner, rather, the image/graphic of the cursor is stuck there, I can move the invisible cursor just fine

Re: Mouse cursor stuck in top-left corner of the screen

Another user had the same issue: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=221219

It seems to be a bug in the nouveau driver, which I notice you are running as well. You may want to look through https://nouveau.freedesktop.org/wiki/Bugs/ and see if this is a known issue (it may well be fixed in the next version), or you may want to switch to the propriety nvidia driver instead.

Making lemonade from lemons since 2015.

Re: Mouse cursor stuck in top-left corner of the screen

Its a bug inside KERNEL ... only affects GTX 1000 nvidia series

4.8 --> affected
4.9 --> affected
4.10 --> PATCHED

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour … ug/1646574

At the moment only way  "easy" , is go with 4.10.y kernels
Other way is tray to patch 4.9 LTS series
