pound sign (£) not working in X. [Solved]

I cant get pound signs to work in X - shift-3 comes up with 3 instead of £. As far as I can remember it works fine in a terminal (but not in a gnome-terminal), but i'll just check to make sure.

Just checked and it works fine, so this is an X problem.

British keymaps are gb in Xorg noy uk, try changing that
