VLC doesn't fully play short sounds when used with PulseAudio
Me again.
As the title says, I noticed VLC doesn't fully play short sounds when used with PulseAudio. Short sounds are typically notification sounds for example. Works fine with alsa.
I tried ogg, mp3, wav files... either no sound or just the very beggining of the file is played.
On one specific file I had this error: "cache_read stream error: AStreamSeekStream: hard seek failed"
but most of the time the playback just stops silently.

There was an old thread about similar issue some time back.
Try using "play" from "sox" package, or mpv, this two works with short sounds AFAIK. If you like you can even replace vlc with mpv, lighter and better.
