liri desktop fail to start

I installed recently liri desktop from here:
https://liri.io/download/
I also installed SDDM because it's in wayland. The problem is that when I try to login to liri, it doesn't start and return to SDDM login screen.
The wayland-session.log have some errors:

greenisland.launcher: Mode: "eglfs"
greenisland.launcher: Hardware: "drm"
greenisland.launcher: libinput: true
greenisland.launcher: Running: /usr/bin/liri-shell --wayland-socket-name greenisland-seat0
greenisland.qpa.deviceintegration: EGL device integration plugin lookup paths: /usr/lib/qt/plugins /usr/bin

greenisland.qpa.deviceintegration: logind connection not yet established
greenisland.qpa.logind: Session path: "/org/freedesktop/login1/session/c3"
greenisland.qpa.deviceintegration: Take control of session via logind
greenisland.qpa.logind: Acquired control of the session

greenisland.qpa.kms: Opening device "/dev/dri/card0"
greenisland.qpa.kms: Creating GBM device for file descriptor 20 obtained from "/dev/dri/card0"
Failed to open EGL display

Anyone knows how to fix this?
Thanks in advance.

Re: liri desktop fail to start

Same issue here.

Just picked up a new laptop and I thought I'd try a wayland based DE, just to see how things were coming along.
This is a fresh installation, the only things installed are base and the packages listed on the Liri wiki page.
I get the following output when trying to run liri-session...

[slithery@lenovo ~]$ liri-session
liri.qpa.deviceintegration: EGL device integration plugin lookup paths: /usr/lib/qt/plugins /usr/bin
liri.qpa.deviceintegration: Preferred EGL device integration based on the hardware configuration: "kms"
liri.qpa.deviceintegration: Using "kms" EGL device integration
liri.qpa.kms: Loading configuration from "/home/slithery/.config/liri/platform.json"
liri.qpa.kms: Could not open configuration file "/home/slithery/.config/liri/platform.json" for reading
liri.qpa.deviceintegration: logind connection not yet established
liri.qpa.logind: Session path: "/org/freedesktop/login1/session/c1"
liri.qpa.deviceintegration: Take control of session via logind
liri.qpa.logind: Acquired control of the session
liri.qpa.deviceintegration: Initialization
liri.qpa.kms: Found the following video devices:
liri.qpa.kms: /dev/dri/card0
liri.qpa.kms: Using autodetected "/dev/dri/card0"
liri.qpa.kms: Opening device "/dev/dri/card0"
liri.qpa.kms: Creating GBM device for file descriptor 12 obtained from "/dev/dri/card0"
Failed to open EGL display
Aborted

Hardware is a Skylake mobile i3 CPU with onboard Intel HD Graphics 520. I've tried with both the modesetting driver and xf86-video-intel and I get the same result - I'm not sure if wayland will even use the xf86 driver or if it's an X only thing.

Any ideas are welcome - I have zero experience with wayland.

@jasonwryan - According to upstream the missing config file isn't an issue, it only gets created the first time you succesfully end a session.

No, it didn't "fix" anything. It just shifted the brokeness one space to the right. - jasonwryan
