remove dependence from yaourt installation

Hi,
i need to install a program from yaourt, but one of the dependences that it gives me is already installed.
How can i say to yaourt where to find the installed dependence? Thanks for answers!

Re: remove dependence from yaourt installation

If the dependency was installed with pacman/yaourt but has another name, adjust the pkgbuild to add the new name of the dependency, if the dependency was not originally installed through pacman I suggest you do so. I'd also suggest that you read and thoroughly try to understand this wiki page before continuing with anything that has to do with the AUR https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Ar … Repository

If what I've just told you still confuses you: provide more information, what do you want to install? what have you already installed that makes you prompt this question? What are the outputs of yaourt?

Re: remove dependence from yaourt installation

Learn how to do it manually with makepkg, then you will understand why yaourt fails.

Wiki articles: AUR, makepkg, PKGBUILD
