Posting in NC, but this may belong somewhere else.
My searches didn't turn up anything related to broken openbox menus. Maybe I missed something...
While adding a newly installed package (audacity) to my OpenBox menu, I copied my menu.xml file, then edited menu.xml to put audacity in the Multimedia submenu, saved the new menu.xml, and then stupidly clicked
Menu --> System --> Reconfigure OpenBox
Not just once, but three times. After the damage was done, I realized I should have just logged out of OpenBox and logged back in. After that repeated stupid mistake, all but one multimedia app have disappeared from the menu, amarok. The Multimedia sub-menu now displays
Amarok

Openbox 3 >
Tried to paste a thumbnail here, but it's over 50kb.
Clicking on Amarok launches it as expected. Clicking the next three work as expected, but they don't belong in the Multimedia sub-menu. The weird new sub-menu Openbox 3, when clicked shows a duplicate main Applications menu. I fear I'm not doing a good job of explaining this. I posted a screen shot at https://transfer.sh/15N7xy/openbox-menus.png I also uploaded my menu.xml and the backup copy
https://transfer.sh/2svli/menu.xml
https://transfer.sh/DBu1g/menu.xml.copy
I have never used pastebin, dropbox or any other sites for temporary storage. The screenshot displays OK on the site, but my menu files have to be downloaded from the site in order to see them. I understand why that may not be acceptable to anyone wanting to help. I haven't figured out how to upload files to http://sprunge.us/ - I kept getting errors when trying to upload from the CLI. I will try to learn more about it.
My multimedia apps still work from the CLI but can't be started from the menu. Except for amarok, they are hidden from the menu.
I just don't know how to unravel the mess I've made of my OpenBox menu.
I think it's unrelated to upgrading before installing audacity, But I guess it's possible.
I first checked the Frontpage news and found the notice, "ca-certificates-utils 20170307-1 upgrade requires manual intervention", and followed the instructions.
# pacman -Syuw # download packages
# rm /etc/ssl/certs/ca-certificates.crt # remove conflicting file
# pacman -Su # perform upgrade
I think I rebooted before installing audacity.
If I need to post logs or other missing information, please let me know.
Edit: removed failed thumbnail attempt.

You're missing the closing </item> tag after Amarok right after line 192.

I tried this again late last night, and got it to work. So next time I need to paste a config file or code, I'll use sprunge. Now if I could figure out how to remove something I posted there...
