Bluetooth Headset regression

Hi, I used to be able to play music from a bluetooth speaker and am not able to any more. I waited a while assuming that there was a broken package in the repos and it might fix itself but it has not.

I am able to connect the device but am unable to play sound. I have tried the suggestions outlined here: https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bl … play_sound

I use gdm, but I have confirmed that I only have  single pulseaudio daemon running:

ps aux | grep pulse
# just the one process running

bluetooth appears to start correctly:

Starting Bluetooth service...
Bluetooth daemon 5.44
Started Bluetooth service.
Starting SDP server
Bluetooth management interface 1.14 initialized
Endpoint registered: sender=:1.45 path=/MediaEndpoint/A2DPSource
Endpoint registered: sender=:1.45 path=/MediaEndpoint/A2DPSink

then I have the following error in my log (systemctl status bluetooth):

a2dp-source profile connect failed for 74:XX:XX:XX:XX:6D: Device or resource busy

followed by this normal looking status line:

/org/bluez/hci0/dev_74_XX_XX_XX_XX_6D/fd0: fd(33) ready

Connecting the device with bluetoothctl appears to work fine (and device registers as connected both on the computer and on the device).

Has anyone got any advice on how to troubleshoot this problem?

Re: Bluetooth Headset regression

Deleting the device, then re-detecting and reconnecting it seems to work. This often occurs with me when testing BT output on a Live distro.

Re: Bluetooth Headset regression

Hi c00ter, thanks for your reply.

I tried deleting it with

remove <device-mac-address>

in bluetoothctl, which didn't work, is that what you mean by deleting the device and reconnecting?

Re: Bluetooth Headset regression

Yes. That should have been successful, if it were the same problem I have experienced. Sorry.

Regards

Re: Bluetooth Headset regression

Same as you but with bluetooth headset, I also waited for a while hoping it would get fixed with some package update but no luck.

My symptoms are slightly different though:
1. I am now unable to use the bluetooth headset with wi-fi as the connection becomes too bad (interference) so I can't watch a video on internet and use the headset at the same time, I tried many things but no luck.
2. The sound on the headset would stop with a timeout error message.
3. Frequent big stuttering making sound very choppy.

I use the headset on my laptop. The controller is a WLAN & Bluetooth: Intel Dual AC 8260 & Bluetooth.

The headset is a divacore addict (http://divacore.com/en/wireless-bluetoo … nes-addict)

Re: Bluetooth Headset regression

I managed to narrow down the problem. I realised it is actually just a problem that occurs when connecting to an amazon echo. Seems to occur on ubuntu as well.

Found from this askubuntu question: https://askubuntu.com/questions/871630/ … -bluetooth
