[Solved] gnome-shell segfaults with errors in libglib/libxkbcommon

Hi,
after my last system update, gnome-shell started segfaulting randomly when playing video. This happens after a random amount of time (typically a few minutes, sometimes longer), and regardless of which program is playing video (e.g. VLC and the HTML5-video in Firefox are equally affected).

I'm running GNOME in a Wayland-session with the amdgpu open-source graphics driver.

dmesg reports the segfaults as being caused by either errors in libglib or libxkbcommon:

[12149.475131] gnome-shell[8431]: segfault at 18 ip 00007f8d91c25af0 sp 00007fffd6a80538 error 4 in libglib-2.0.so.0.5000.3[7f8d91bb1000+111000]
[12408.879941] gnome-shell[9011]: segfault at 8 ip 00007f0ccbc4c343 sp 00007fff6a9f0398 error 6 in libxkbcommon.so.0.0.0[7f0ccbc30000+3e000]

(These are the last two crashes, but its always one or the other).

I've checked through the pacman log, the only things that have been upgraded that seem video-related are mesa and mesa-vdpau

OK, iturns out it is not just video. Crashes are much more common when playing videos, but also occur in other situations. I've changed the title accordingly.

Some further testing later, I still have no idea what the issue is, but it appears to be triggered by the gnome-shell redshift extension. I can live without that, marking SOLVED for now.
