Hi All,
I am experiencing this issue in LXDE. I cannot restore it to previous look.
I can work like that but some things that should be visible are no longer visible e.g. some scroll bars, some type in & search bars in the browser
Please have a look.
Appreciate any clues.
Thanks

Gtk3?
Check ~/.config/gtk-3.0/settings.ini and comment the gtk-theme-name setting, ensure to have adwaita installed. Any other style/theme is virtually unsupported by gtk3 :-(

Well, I wouldn't say there are no working GTK3 themes. Arc, Numix and Zuki-themes are all keeping up with the GTK3 updates and work flawlessly.

"atm" - the problem is that you never know which theme works ok with what version of gtk "right now" because they constantly break API and everything else with every release.
The only thing that will reliably work is adwaita :-(

Hi again,
This is my settings.ini in GTK3.0 directory and adwaita-icon-theme-3.22.0+1+g58cd459e-1 is installed.
[Settings]
# gtk-theme-name=Raleigh
gtk-icon-theme-name=Adwaita
gtk-font-name=DejaVu Sans 10
gtk-cursor-theme-name=Adwaita
gtk-cursor-theme-size=18
gtk-toolbar-style=GTK_TOOLBAR_BOTH_HORIZ
gtk-toolbar-icon-size=GTK_ICON_SIZE_LARGE_TOOLBAR
gtk-button-images=1
gtk-menu-images=1
gtk-enable-event-sounds=1
gtk-enable-input-feedback-sounds=1
gtk-xft-antialias=1
gtk-xft-hinting=1
gtk-xft-hintstyle=hintslight
gtk-xft-rgba=rgb
I have restarted but the window decoration is still broken. It looks my GUI is degrading after some more recent updates. I was with LXDE for years now.
My sound control looks like that (no scroll bars):
I started working on multiple monitors 2 external and 1 included with the laptop and moving LXPANEL to other monitor crashes it when I change back to 1 display using ARANDR. It disappears completely and I have to bring it back by killing lxpanel and deleting .config/lxpanel, I also lose configuration of this panel + some applets that have been implemented more recently. Very annoying especially if looking at the GUI alternatives I have simply no choice but stick to LXDE. ;D

Raleigh should be gtk2 and LXDE will likely be using its own config paths, so effectively you'll be trying to use Raleigh on gtk3.
Install the gnome-themes-standard package, run lxappearance, select adwaita and see what happens.
You can also try one of the themes justasug mentioned, but you may get "glitches" every now and then (the between between gtk feeling like break the theme API for no apparent reason and those themes to catch up.)

@seth
your suggestion has done the trick.
Excellent, thank you
I just have to fix this lxpanel crashing when playing with multiple monitors.
