MATE color customization gone after 1.8 update / Broken Theme

Hi, I have recently been having trouble with the update from 1.6 to 1.8 and the removal of the color customization features that occur in Arch but not in Linux Mint.

I have lost the color for my highlighted text to the generic blue color gnome provides and my calendar has turned white.

I am using a very slightly customized version of the theme Paper. I checked with some other themes and they end up similarly. Some have black bars as separators rather than colored separators as well.

I have run Pacman -Syu already and my uname -a output is.

Re: MATE color customization gone after 1.8 update / Broken Theme

If you're talking about the settings under Appearance->Theme->Customise->Colours then those settings have indeed been removed. I think the colour customisation settings only worked for GTK+ 2 applications and MATE is GTK+ 3 only as of 1.18.

Your best bet is to create

${HOME}/.config/gtk-3.0/gtk.css

and add some tweaks there. For the calendar applet I think you can do something like the following:

#MatePanelPopupWindow {
    background-color: rgba(x,x,x,x);
}

Have a look at the themes here to get an idea: https://github.com/mate-desktop/mate-th … top-themes
