Problem with aur/vpnks

I installed vpnks from aur https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/vpnks/ (https://github.com/plasticbrain/vpnkillswitch), and edited the vpnkillswitch.sh to change my adapter from device=eth0 to device=wlp3s0 to suit my active wireless connection. However when I actually run the vpnkillswitch.sh script (via sudo sh vpnkillswitch.sh) it returns with

Error: argument 'status' not understood. Try passing --help instead.

The same thing happens if I run the command that the script is running, I get the same error

nmcli -t -f vpn con status
Error: argument 'status' not understood. Try passing --help instead.

Can anyone help me on this? It would seem nmcli has been updated since the script was written, and this command is no longer valid. I use gnome's 'Network Manager' to connect to the internet using my wifi and also use it to connect to my vpn.
I want to use this script because I want my entire internet to go down when my VPN disconnects to prevent leaks. I know of other scripts but they just kill specific processes if the VPN disconnects.

This would be my guess too. File an issue on the upstream project if you haven't already. Looking through the man page suggests that status is still an acceptable command, so you may not have edited the script correctly.

EDIT2: although the script explicitly says that you shouldn't need to edit the 'nmcli -t -f vpn con status' line, so I would still file an issue.

Mod note: Moving to AUR Issues.
