[Solved] Can't enable second GPU (nvidia GeForce 940MX) with bumblebee

I have a system with two GPUs:

Card-1: Intel Device 5916 bus-ID: 00:02.0
Card-2: NVIDIA GM108M [GeForce 940MX] bus-ID: 01:00.0
Display Server: X.Org 1.19.3 driver: intel Resolution: 1920x1080@60.00hz
GLX Renderer: Mesa DRI Intel HD Graphics 620 (Kabylake GT2)
GLX Version: 3.0 Mesa 17.0.2 Direct Rendering: Yes

I've followed the instructions in the arch wiki for setting up dual gpu support using bumblebee and the nvidia closed source drivers ( https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Bumblebee and https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NV … stallation )

When I try to enable the nvidia GPU with

optirun glx gears

I get:

dmesg gives me:

But the nvidia site states that my GPU is supported with that version of the module. (http://www.nvidia.com/download/driverRe … 4708/en-us).

I'm running manjaro with kernel 4.9.20-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT and my system is fully up to date.

Please advise. How do I enable and use the nvidia GPU?

Looks like nvidia changed something recently in their driver. I installed nvidia-beta instead of nvidia and now the second GPU is working.

I'm running manjaro with kernel 4.9.20-1-MANJARO #1 SMP PREEMPT and my system is fully up to date.

I am glad you got it solved, but I must point out Manjaro is a different distribution with their own forums. From now on, please ask Manjaro support questions on their forums. Thanks.
