Thunderbird 52: slow feed loading?

After upgrading to Thunderbird 52, I have noticed that the feeds load much slower, and some times, when I click on a post, it does not load at all. Also, sometimes, the thunderbird process keeps running after quitting.

I have tried disabling all extensions, and also both 52.0-1 and 52.0-2 versions of the package, and the same happens with both. The only solution to have feeds working "normally" I have found is to downgrade to thunderbird 45.8.0-1.

Has someone else experienced something similar?
