It's been a while since I created a dvd. Now, after several updates to my comp I tried to create a data dvd-rw. Unfortunately I get an error that k3b is unable to umount the /dev/hdc and thus cannot burn the disc. I'm not at home atm, so I can't replicate the exact error.
Any ideas how to fix this?

my guess: you are using gnome ;-)
gnome-volume-manager automounts the (blank) dvd, and k3b isn't able to umount that disc, it sucks :-(
(and the diskmounter applet only let's you eject a dvd, not unmounting it)
2 solutions:
*) after you insert dvd: pumount /media/DVDNAME
*) turn off automounting in gnome-volume-manager

Mouse256,
Thanks for the tip! You guessed right, I'm using gnome. I have to try the first solution as I do like the automount feature.
