This suddenly started happening and I have no idea why.. I hope someone has an idea on how to solve this!

It goes to sleep because your GPU hooks off.

It's suggested to be a temperature issue, but could maybe due to power saving throttling?
Try passing radeon.dpm=0 and the testcases on the bug (or any way you can half-wise cause this)
