What's aur-dev.archlinux.org?

Dump question: what's aur-dev.archlinux.org? What's the difference between aur-dev and aur? How do I use packages from aur-dev?

I'm trying to install tensorflow-gpu, which requires cudnn 5.1. The aur package I found is https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/cudnn/, which is 6.0.20-1. I did find a cudnn 5.1 package, from https://aur-dev.archlinux.org/packages/cudnn/. But I don't know what is the difference between aur-dev and aur. I use packer as AUR package manager, how do I use aur-dev packages using packer?

I did search on wiki and forum, but couldn't find an answer.

Thanks~

Re: What's aur-dev.archlinux.org?

Based on the name I doubt if it's meant for actual use.  It sounds like a development area to me.  Are the packages the same?  Are they up-to-date with the packages from the "other" aur?

I'm not sure if it's actively used any more, but it's where the development branch of the AUR is accessable. The packages on there are probably the ones that were pushed during the testing of the current version of the AUR (AUR4). EDIT: It seems to be a snapshot of the AUR as it was in February.

Re: What's aur-dev.archlinux.org?

It's likely for AUR-web development. I don't see the harm in using it, but don't. It's unnecessary for your purposes anyway:

The AUR is git and all commits are available for your perusal and downloading. You can see them in the web interface by clicking "view changes" and can download snapshots of each version (since AUR4, anyway).
