Why was it closed? Just because someone using manjaro posted in it doesn't seem like a valid reason.

There is reason to. The old thread had crashes prior to 4.10.8, so it could be a (semi-)unrelated issue, and it has more info.

Yes, and then someone that only found the old thread won't find my current solution there. This is just silly. If the discussion of some issue is to be moved to another thread, then at least that thread has to be linked in the closing post.
