I have recently installed Arch-Linux, and as far as I am aware I have also successfully installed pacaur. I am trying to also install pamac-pacaur for the nice GUI, but I am getting build errors, which I will paste below
preferences_dialog.vala:276.34-276.37: error: Argument 1: Cannot pass value to reference or output parameter
ignorepkgs_liststore.remove (iter);

make: *** [Makefile:14: all] Error 2
==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().

:: failed to build pamac-pacaur package(s)
Does anyone know what is going on or how I would fix it?

Afaik, pamac has no built-in AUR support and does not rely on external helpers anymore. pamac-pacaur is obsolete.
