Re: sddm core dumps suddenly

Hey, I didn't attach xorg.0.log because it looked absolutely fine, with no errors. It looked as if the xorg-server was still running.
I can also start my normal DE using startx and I can also use wayland, with xwayland. Just sddm refuses to work.

Re: sddm core dumps suddenly

When startx'ing, can you glxinfo?

See https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=224049, there's speculation this is because sddm starts before the GPU is fully initialized.
=> Can you boot into the multiuser target and start the sddm service by hand?

Re: sddm core dumps suddenly

Hey,

Yeah glxinfo, xrandr, glxspheres, primus, opengl compositing, everything works fine.

I'll try booting into multiuser target and trying to run SDDM then. (I'll do that later though, as I really need to get some shit done first ;/

Re: sddm core dumps suddenly

I tried the multi-user target. I sddm still crashes. I am able to run lxdm, though only once and I have to VT-switch back and forth twice before I can see text appearing. Upon stopping it the system hangs...

Nothing suspicious in the logs:

Re: sddm core dumps suddenly

I got the same sddm-0.17.0-5 crash with the same libGLdispatch stack trace on Manjaro and it turns out I was out of space on the root drive. Freeing up some space resolved the problem.

Re: sddm core dumps suddenly

Thanks for the info, since this is an old topic though, I'm going to close it.
