[SOLVED] Native notifications in Firefox

Does anyone know of a way to get native Linux notifications with Firefox 53.0.2-1? I used to use GNotifier successfully, but it's been discontinued, and no longer works on the latest version of Firefox.

Firefox already use native notifications. At least in KDE with libnotify installed.
It's even written in the issue you linked:

Finally, GNotifier is less and less relevant these days, especially on Linux. Most Linux distributions already enabled FF built-in integration with notification-server, so GNotifier is not needed any more.

Thank you for the reply. I'm using Plasma too, and have libnotify installed. When I have GNotifier installed, the notifications look like this.

After disabling GNotifier, I get no notification at all when my download completes. I tried a fresh profile with no add-ons.

Having said that, I just noticed that native notifications for Random Agent Spoofer were working fine. So maybe it's just that I'm not getting any notifications for downloads in general. Do you see those?

Also, I just installed Gnome Download Notifications, and that fixes for me. I get notifications for downloads, and they are native. I'd prefer having it work without an add-on, but I'm happy enough with that situation. Cheers.

Oh yes, I was talking about notifications from websites. I don't have an alert on completed download. I think it was removed from Firefox in version 23 (the about:config option was browser.download.manager.showAlertOnComplete).

Oh right, yes. I was under the misapprehension that there should have been an alert for this. I guess it was GNotifier doing the good work for me up until recently! Thanks again.
