Hi,
I'm using XFCE, lately Xfce4-Session broke for reasons I don't know (first symptom: autostart apps didn't start anymore on startup, so no panel erc. but still launcher via ALT-F2), shortly after that (while still trying to find out what's wrong) I wasn't able to start xfce anymore, not via a display manager (lightdm), not by disabling the display manager and starting on console with "exec startxfce4" - in both cases the xfce session simply doesn't start at all.
No clue what the reason is, checked the following:
- lightdm ->not involved, no hint in lightdm logs and as I wrote before: also a start from console without a display manager via exec startxfce4 didn't work
- Xorg: no hint in Xorg logs and LXDE, Cinnamon, Mate, Gnome do start without any issues (installed it afterwards to test these DE's - still like XFCE most, so I want it back...)
Any ideas what to check? Still think probably a Xorg issue, but have no idea what to look for in the logs (checked for EE / WW marked lines)
Thanks!

your journal for xfce related segfaults. or just "startx" only an xterm and try to run "startxfce4" from there and watch the ouput.

Thanks, startxfce4 in a terminal helped indeed. Package "which" was missing. Reinstalled. All good now.
