[SOLVED] kdesu doesn't work with Kate and Dolphin anymore

Hey, the title says it all. I get a password prompt, a new line in terminal, no error message, nothing starts. Other applications seem to start: Konsole, Ark, Gparted… Happened after the recent updates. Any ideas?

What "recent updates"? Please post your pacman log.

Hm: "A significant change that affects not only Dolphin, but also Kate and KWrite, is that launching these applications as root on Linux systems has been disabled by default. I guess I have to use sudoedit then. Bad communication from KDE.

With Frameworks 5.34 you don't need sudoedit anymore: Kate has now builtin privilege escalation support via polkit.
