install arch on old system as guest

Hi.
I am using Windows 7 ultimate 32-bit as a host system, with virtual box as a hypervisor.
Have try to install arch for "just for fun", as Linus said. But find out that it is impossible.
I am absolutely newb at arch, all my previous experience was with windows and some ubunta.
I downloaded release 2017.05.01, which as said is both 32- and 64-bit, in virtual box gui I choose Linux - archlnux 32 bit, grope iso image with latest release, and vbox show me next message "this kernel requires an x86-64 cpu but only detected an i686 cpu"
Can someone give me advice or give a link to howto about that?
I am stuck on it, and feeling absolutely depressing about that.

Where did it say this? February was the last iso supporting 32 bit. Installing arch on 32 bit hardware at this point would be ill advised as it will not be supported.

Host machine is not VTd- or VTx-ed, And my windows host system is not Hyper-v-ed, there's no windows feature installed on supporting virtualisation.

i686 is phased out. You need to install as a 64-bit install.

Well, so solution is to find 32-bit iso image, latest was on Feb, 2017, and install from it?

I don't understand why May, 2017 image are called as both 32- and 64-bit. Or I didn't understand that and it's only 64-bit?

Again where did it say archlinux-2017.05.01-x86_64.iso supports 32 bit?
Edit:
Packages for i686 are still being produced and will be until November but do not expect that these packages have been tested on i686.

No.

As already stated Arch Linux will soon no longer support 32-bit. If you want to install a 32-bit linux then choose a different distro.

I'd suggest Manjaro as an alternate distro for 32-bit ~

Except that Manjaro are phasing out 32-bit and 64-bit x86 support to concentrate only on ARM.

It is still supported on Manjaro, but good point, the end is very near.

Seems like just yesterday we had to make our own and beg for x64 packages

I didn't even look at the date, just assumed that Manjaro was dropping support for 32-bit along with us so searched for a link

Lol, easy to fall for that when it's 5-16, I missed the date too. Did think it a touch odd that ARM would be preferred, but I don't use 32-bit anymore (except for some ARM boards)

Personally I wouldn't install Manjaro either, the odds of them continuing to support 32-bit when it's dropped by Arch are slim.

I usually suggest Gentoo at this point, but I shan't make that recommendation on a VM sans VT-x.

Well, "In the beginning was the Word" and the word was gentoo you mean
I sat on Windows since youth and want finally to study about architecture of Unix-like systems, thats why I thought about arch. I didn't think about gentoo, now I'll try.

Im case of Windows all was simple, may be becouse it was 1st computer, may be I was younger, or may be becouse of everybody use Windows and in case of stucking I asked some friends IRL who can help.

Well, but all this time I was very intersted about linux systems, but its really arduous.

As a newb I realize, that I must install system by myself, and understand core principles.
